Wire nets protecting homes from thiefs?

A curious news coming from Great Britain, in particular from the small villages of Tandridge and Tatsfield, the county of Surrey, and Brasted and Sundridge, County Kent.
Some residents have put metallic mesh on their windows in order to prevent potential thieves from entering the apartments.
This action, according to the citizens, became necessary after a series of thefts recorded in the last months.
Local authorities, however, have frowned upon the installation of these metal nets and ordered citizens to remove them. The reason? The thieves might be injured and claim compensation.
"There have been cases of thieves who, in committing criminal acts, were injured and have asked for and received compensation. We are not protecting criminals, we tell citizens to protect their property, but there are safe and approved protections, the home-made wire mesh are not among them".
So says a spokesman for Surrey Police, who has publicly responded to the numerous protests of citizens, who accuse officials of protecting criminals and criminalize ordinary citizens.
Thomas Cooper, one of the residents who decided to resort to methods of home protection, doesn't agree and tehre are many others with him.
" We must be free to protect our property as we like. It 's ridiculous that authorities tell us to remove them because some criminal might get hurt. And it's absurd" .

Swings and outdoor playground equipment for your children

With the arrival of warm weather children can finally go out and play in the open air, venting after a winter spent at home sometimes sleeping off those extra pounds accumulated while eating snacks on the couch watching TV. But you can not always take them to the park or picnic areas.
For the lucky children who live in houses with gardens, Mom and Dad can create an area for their entertainment, in which to insert swings, slides and all that their son could want. In this way the child can play safely at home, under the watchful eye of parents. But how can you recreate a small outdoor playground equipment in your garden?
The most ingenious and willing parents can make by their own the different equipment (with an eye to security, of course), but others may rely on department stores. For example you can find the Swing set, a large garden structure that includes slides, swings and plenty of space for climbing with the rope ladder or the ladder of plastic. Such a set may cost, depending on the store, aroung 500 euros. Its cost, although important, is not nothing compared to the happiness of your children and you will avoid unlikely makeshift buildings not in accordance with security.
But if your budget is limited you can opt, for example, on a small basket swing for kids.
